Nice Bear Week 2026: Where Pride, Power, and Play Take Over the Riviera

From April 9 to 12, the sun-soaked shores of Nice will transform into a vibrant celebration of body positivity, identity, and unapologetic self-expression as Nice Bear Week 2026 returns in full force. Anchored by the much-anticipated Election of Mister Bear d’Azur 2026, this four-day festival promises far more than nightlife—it’s a bold, joyful tribute to the diversity of bodies and the communities that celebrate them.

At its core, Nice Bear Week is about visibility and inclusion. It’s a space where hairy, bearded, larger bodies—and those who admire them—are not just welcomed, but celebrated without compromise or hesitation. Across four packed days, attendees can expect a mix of social gatherings, challenges, cultural outings, and unforgettable parties designed to spark connection and confidence in equal measure.

The festivities kick off on Thursday evening at Le Swing, where participants are welcomed with introductions to contestants, organizers, and the event’s jury. From there, the energy flows into a communal dining experience at Resto L’Union—a fitting start for a community that proudly celebrates indulgence and togetherness.

Friday offers a choose-your-own-adventure vibe. Attendees can bond over strategy and adrenaline at Nobody Escape Game, or opt for a scenic escape to the medieval hilltop village of Èze, complete with a visit to its breathtaking botanical garden overlooking the Mediterranean. Whether it’s teamwork or tranquility, the day is designed to reflect the many sides of the community.

As evening falls, the celebrations return to the city with a laid-back aperitif at La Cave Wilson, before building toward one of the week’s headline moments at Le Sunset—the Mister Chaser France Election Event, a unique and electrifying showcase of charisma, charm, and community pride.

Beyond the parties and programming, Nice Bear Week operates with a clear structure: tickets must be purchased in advance, with no door sales or exceptions, reinforcing a sense of commitment and shared experience among participants. It’s an all-in event—once you’re in, you’re part of the family.

In a region known for glamour and exclusivity, Nice Bear Week flips the script. It’s not about fitting in—it’s about standing out, embracing authenticity, and celebrating every inch of who you are. And for four unforgettable days on the French Riviera, that spirit takes center stage.

600 Nautical Miles of Adrenaline: Saint-Tropez Sets Sail for the PAPREC 600 Spectacle

Every spring, the glittering shores of Saint-Tropez trade quiet luxury for wind, speed, and raw maritime intensity—and in April 2026, the stakes are higher than ever. The PAPREC 600 regatta returns from April 17 to 25, promising a full week where passion for sailing takes center stage and the Mediterranean becomes a battleground.

At the heart of the event lies a formidable challenge: a 600-nautical-mile non-stop course that pushes sailors to their physical and strategic limits. This is not a leisurely cruise—it’s a relentless test of endurance, precision, and teamwork across open water. The official start, set for April 20 just off the coast, will see a striking fleet surge forward, transforming the horizon into a living, breathing spectacle.

What makes the PAPREC 600 especially compelling is its diversity. From fully crewed IRC yachts to double-handed teams and high-performance multihulls, the race draws a wide spectrum of competitors. Each brings their own tactics, strengths, and ambitions, creating a dynamic contest where no two approaches are the same—and no outcome is guaranteed.

Yet, beyond the competition, the regatta offers something equally powerful: atmosphere. Spectators can take it all in for free, lining the coast to witness the dramatic старт, feel the tension build, and cheer on skippers as they embark on their demanding journey. The blend of sea spray, sunshine, and collective excitement turns the event into more than just a race—it becomes a celebration of maritime culture.

For seasoned sailing enthusiasts and curious newcomers alike, the PAPREC 600 is a rare chance to experience offshore racing at its most authentic. In Saint-Tropez this April, the call of the sea isn’t just heard—it’s impossible to ignore.

Nice, Queer, and Unwritten: A Bold Exhibition Reclaims a Hidden History

To mark the 18th edition of the In&Out Nice Queer Film Festival, Mémoire manquante: Archives LGBTQIA+ de la Côte d’Azur and Les Ouvreures are joining forces to present a landmark exhibition, “Nice Queer: A History Yet to Be Written.”

Running from April 10 to May 3, 2026, at 109 – Pôle de Cultures contemporaines, the exhibition arrives with the valued support of the City of Nice’s Department of Artistic Creation.

At its heart is a striking and deeply moving poster by artist Maxime Parodi, whose work has long captured the spirit and complexity of queer identity.

The piece brings together an extraordinary constellation of figures who have shaped LGBTQIA+ history and culture, including Magnus Hirschfeld, Suzy Solidor, Jean-Luc Verna, Jean Cocteau, Jean Marais, Marie-Paule Belle, Santa, as well as beloved local icons Miss Koka and Cathy Café.

Together, they form not just a tribute, but a powerful reminder: queer history in Nice is rich, vibrant—and still waiting to be fully told.

Monaco Prepares to Relive Its Most Defining Love Story

There are royal weddings—and then there is the moment a Hollywood fairytale rewrote the destiny of a nation.

Seventy years after Prince Rainier III married Grace Kelly, Monaco is preparing to commemorate a union that didn’t just captivate the world—it transformed the principality itself.

When Grace Kelly arrived on April 12, 1956, to wed the prince just days later, the global frenzy was immediate and unprecedented. Dubbed the “Wedding of the Century,” the ceremony drew more than 30 million television viewers—an extraordinary number for the time—and instantly elevated Monaco from a quiet Mediterranean enclave into an international symbol of glamour, prestige, and modern royalty.

Seven decades on, that legacy still resonates—and Monaco is marking the occasion not with a single event, but with a sweeping, months-long tribute. Over the next six months, many of the principality’s leading cultural institutions will revisit the romance, the spectacle, and the enduring myth of Rainier and Grace through exhibitions, publications, and public gatherings.

One of the centerpiece events arrives on April 17, when MonacoUSA partners with Groupe Nice-Matin to unveil a remarkable commemorative publication. Their special Hors Série magazine—spanning 116 pages in both English and French—offers a deeply researched and visually rich retelling of the royal wedding and its aftermath.

The publication is more than nostalgia. Featuring nearly 150 photographs and archival documents—many never before seen—it reconstructs the full arc of the story: from the orchestrated glamour of the pre-wedding days to the cultural ripple effects that followed. It promises not just a celebration, but a reassessment of how this union became embedded in 20th-century legend.

That same evening, the story comes alive in a more intimate setting. From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., guests will gather at Marius Monaco for a public networking event hosted by MonacoUSA. With free admission and an open invitation to anyone over 18, the event blends accessibility with historical reflection.

Attendees will hear directly from the publication’s authors, who will share fresh insights into the days surrounding the wedding—details that continue to reshape how the story is understood today.

If the original wedding symbolized the merging of Hollywood allure with European aristocracy, this anniversary underscores something deeper: the durability of that narrative. In an era where celebrity and royalty often blur together, Rainier and Grace remain the prototype—the couple who turned a small principality into a global brand powered as much by emotion as by image.

Seventy years later, Monaco isn’t just remembering a wedding. It’s revisiting the moment it became Monaco as the world knows it.
