Pink Parade 2017

Its summer, which in the LGBTQ community can only mean one thing, its Pride season somewhere. In Nice and the whole of the French Rivera, we tend to call it time for the Pink Parade.

The date changes every year depending on permission from the city for the street events during the height of the tourism season and it seems every year it’s on the edge if it will even happen at all. And especially given the tragic event that took place last summer on the Promenade in Nice on Bastille Day, security measures are high this year and the city has never felt safer.

Word got out by the organizers from the ALGAE Nice Cote d’Azur committee as early as possible that this year’s Pink Parade event will be on Saturday, August 5th, 2017 at 4:30pm starting with a request for everyone to meet at Place Massena where a reflection will begin honoring those who are no longer with us.

After the gathering then everyone will be welcomed to mobilize as one, and as usual with these type of street parades, there is a lot of joy, smiles and love in our hearts.

Shortly afterwards, at 7pm there will be a ‘Pink Drink’ outdoor dance party at the MAMAC with various local DJ’s followed by an evening of entertainment and special events at all the various associations, bars, restaurants and nightclubs throughout the city.

A big thank you needs to go out to the organizers who year after year still have to push for this important occasion to go forward, as yes, in this day and age there is plenty of basic rights violations including assaults, discrimination, etc., all on a daily basis around the world.

Something though that has always been special about the Pink Parade is, although many of these Pride events around the world have now become very commercialized, including overpriced parties that exclude many people or the main reason behind the need for this day of recognition, in Nice, the whole of the Cote d’Azur comes together truly as a community.  Here in Nice, everyone is invited to the Pink Parade no matter who you love and participation in the day of events is always for you to enjoy.

Happy Pink Parade 2017 everyone!

The 70th Cannes Film Festival!

Beautiful Cannes, the once sleepy seaside village that managed to grasp the world’s attention since the inception of the first Cannes Film Festival now it celebrates its 70th anniversary!

A year-round travel destination, Cannes offers not only a place to relax and recharge amongst gorgeous settings such as the many beaches with of course the Mediterranean Sea to enjoy surrounded by hills dotted with stunning villas that have breathtaking vistas. And if you choose, there is also every designer shopping boutique imaginable along with a vibrant nightlife. Then there are the myriad of networking conferences that take place at different times of the year such as MIPIM, Midem, MIPCOM, the Cannes Yachting Festival, Cannes Lions and it goes without saying the Cannes Film Festival.
With the infrastructure and glorious locations already in place, Cannes is the obvious choice if you are looking for an ideal place to put on a spectacular event. And as everyone knows, where there is a party, there are usually gay men and the film festival will be no exception, especially as people gather from around the world so get those hookup apps hot and ready!
This year the 70th Cannes Film Festival is scheduled from May 17th to the 28th with anticipation growing long before it all begins, there is a buzz not only within the city but throughout the region where a number of spectacular events are also taking place in connection with the film festival.

With that, in business now for just over 6 years, the team at Experience The FrenchRiviera brings with it an insider knowledge of the area. They are known locally as liaison advisors who are able to connect an individual or business with most anything required during a client’s visit to the French Riviera.

With an extensive portfolio of long-standing business partnerships available, they work with the most trusted and proven establishments to offer their clients the best service and rates for whatever may be required including anything from private car and security services, to helicopter transfers, the chartering of a yacht with the main focus of their business being in the luxury vacation villa rental department.

As an added bonus, Experience The French Riviera for the past few years has been fortunate enough to offer tickets to the various film screenings, and the most sought after VIP parties and charitable events surrounding the 70th Cannes Film Festival.

The extensive list is for most anything imaginable during the Cannes Film Festival including: the opening and closing ceremony at the Palais des Festivals de Cannes, movie premieres, the Calvin Klein Party, Belvedere Party, Vanity Fair Party, Paul Allen Yacht Party, the Chopard Film Festival Event, De Grisogono Party and the highly anticipated amfAR Charity Gala at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc.

Here’s an insider tip: buying an invitation before the announcement of the schedule of films you can count on one price for all the chosen days (now from 1500 EUR/per film, per person) because after the announcement of the schedule of films all prices may vary.

When it comes to the parties and charitable events, the sooner they are purchased the better as some events might only have space for 200 people.

If you have a high degree of interest in the movie industry, the Cannes Film Festival is not to be missed; it is the best place to be for networking or even just getting the chance to see your favorite celebrity.
