Two male actors are being sought to portray characters in their thirties in A Situation, an original psychological drama with elements of comedy, scheduled for a staged public reading in Nice on Saturday, January 9, 2027. A second reading may take place on February 27, 2027.
Set in a luxury hotel suite in Washington, D.C., A Situation explores the concept of “Closetocracy” — a hidden world where power, secrecy, concealed identities, and the pressure to maintain appearances collide. Beneath the polished surface, the play examines the personal cost of living behind carefully constructed façades.
With complex characters, psychological depth, shifting identities, and challenging material, A Situation offers an opportunity to become involved in an original work at an early stage of its development.
The play includes gay male characters and explores questions of identity, perception, and the tension between public image and private reality. There is no overt sexuality; the focus is on character, relationships, and the psychological layers beneath the surface.
Who should apply?
Two male actors are needed to portray characters in their thirties, although your actual age is not important. Professional acting experience is not essential. What matters is a willingness to engage with the material, explore the characters, and deliver a convincing performance in American English.
Selected actors must also be available for three rehearsals ahead of the January public reading.
