Inspired by the Teddy Awards at the LGBT film festival in Berlin, Queer Palm was founded by Franck Finance-Madureira in May of 2010 to give more visibility to the LGBT film community.

The movies in competition are chosen solely for their LGBT+ and gender themes.

This is where producers and directors of LGBT films can showcase their work to potential distributors and is part of a gay, lesbian, bisexual, transsexual and queer independently-sponsored award presented by specially selected jurors.

If you haven’t attended before, this is one of the best times to be in Cannes, with a truly international crowd in attendance, Queer Palm is perfect to network and make new friends in a most wonderful environment.
