Monaco’s Much-Loved Autumn Funfair Returns

Every autumn, Monaco trades a little of its usual Riviera glamour for the colourful sights, sounds and excitement of a traditional funfair. This October, the much-anticipated Foire Attractions returns to Port Hercule, bringing several weeks of rides, games, food and family entertainment to the heart of the Principality.

Running from 16 October to 19 November 2026, the annual event transforms the waterfront into a lively fairground, offering a different way to enjoy Monaco beyond its luxury boutiques, superyachts and famous casino.

Organised by the Mairie de Monaco, the fair has become a familiar fixture on the local calendar, particularly during the autumn school holidays, when families and visitors gather to enjoy the festivities.

A Fairground Beside the Mediterranean

Few locations offer quite the same backdrop as Port Hercule. For the duration of the event, the fairground stretches along Quai Albert Ier and the Route de la Piscine, bringing a burst of colour and movement to Monaco’s iconic harbour.

Visitors can expect a mixture of traditional fairground rides for younger children, more adventurous attractions for thrill-seekers, and games and stalls that appeal to all ages. Food stands add to the atmosphere, making it easy to turn a quick visit into a leisurely afternoon or evening out.

As the sun sets, the experience changes character. Illuminated rides and colourful attractions light up the waterfront, creating a festive atmosphere against the backdrop of the harbour and its impressive collection of boats and yachts.

The location also makes it easy to combine a visit to the funfair with a stroll around La Condamine or dinner at one of the nearby restaurants.

From Family Afternoons to Lively Evenings

The Foire Attractions is designed to accommodate different schedules, whether visitors are planning an outing with young children or looking for something entertaining to do after work.

Food stalls open from 11am daily, while children’s rides also begin operating at that time on weekends and throughout the school holidays. Opening times for other attractions vary, with stalls and rides generally getting underway between 11am and 2pm.

Most attractions remain open until 11pm from Sunday to Thursday, while Fridays, Saturdays and the eves of public holidays offer extended hours until midnight.

Halloween provides another reason to visit, with the fair staying open until midnight on Saturday, 31 October.

There are also special late-night openings towards the end of the event. On Wednesday, 18 November, festivities continue until 1am on the eve of Monaco’s National Day. The final evening, Thursday, 19 November, brings the fair to a close at 11.59pm.

An Autumn Tradition Worth Rediscovering

While Monaco is internationally associated with high-profile sporting events, luxury living and sophisticated entertainment, the Foire Attractions offers a more relaxed and accessible side of the Principality.

It is an opportunity for residents to enjoy a seasonal tradition, for families to spend time together, and for visitors to experience Monaco in a setting that feels distinctly different from its familiar luxury image.

Whether it is the excitement of the rides, the tempting aromas drifting from the food stalls or simply the pleasure of watching the harbour come alive after dark, the fair brings a welcome dose of old-fashioned fun to the Riviera autumn.

For several weeks, Port Hercule will be a place where the lights of the funfair compete with those of the yachts, creating one of Monaco’s most recognisable seasonal scenes.
