Nice is about to add another colourful chapter to its LGBTQIA+ calendar as the NICE GAYMES Party takes over the spectacular Villa Arson on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
Organised by Groupe Azur Inter Sports Nice (GAIS Nice) in partnership with the Côte d’Azur LGBTQIA+ Center, NICE GAYMES
is much more than a sporting event. The three-day celebration, running
from September 18–20, brings together LGBTQIA+ athletes, friends and
allies around sport, friendship, respect and inclusion.
The
party promises to be one of the weekend’s major social highlights, with
DJ Lady Miss Tik providing the soundtrack from 10pm until 2am. The
setting is hardly ordinary either: Villa Arson, at 20 Avenue Stephen
Liégeard, is one of Nice’s most distinctive cultural landmarks,
combining contemporary architecture, gardens, an art centre and the
city’s national art school.
And that combination
feels particularly appropriate. NICE GAYMES is about taking something
traditionally associated with competition and turning it into a
celebration of community. Whether participants are competing, cheering
from the sidelines or simply showing up to dance, the message is clear:
there is room for everyone in sport—and everyone deserves to feel
welcome.
For Nice’s LGBTQIA+ community and its many
visitors, it should be a memorable night where sport, culture and queer
celebration collide in one of the city’s most unusual venues.
